'Follow the steps below to set up a conda environment and install geemap. More information about the geemap installation can be found at https':#geemap.Org/installation.
First, you need to download and install Miniconda or Anaconda on your computer. After installation, open the Anaconda Prompt. If you are using Windows, go to Start Menu > Anaconda3 > Anaconda Prompt. If you are using macOS or Linux, open the Terminal. Enter the following commands into the Anaconda Prompt or Terminal and follow the on-screen instructions to create a conda environment and install geemap.
conda create -n gee python=3.9
conda activate gee
conda install mamba -c conda-forge
mamba install geemap voila -c conda-forge
Note that mamba is a reimplementation of the conda package manager in C++. It enables the parallel downloading of repository data and package files using multithreading and usually resolves dependencies much faster than conda. Once geemap has been installed successfully, enter the following commands into the Terminal and press Enter to launch a Jupyter notebook in your browser.
conda activate gee
jupyter notebook
